What is Avocado? Avocados are green fruit, woody with cocoa beans, green lemon peel and green skin. It comes from Central America and the Caribbean but now grows in California, Florida, Australia, Indonesia, Israel and other parts of the world.
There are hundreds of varieties of avocados, I find that Jamaican varieties are the best taste I have ever had, they have large variations and are slightly sweet and mostly organic.
They are similar to Floridan avocados, but are superior in taste and have a uniform consistency. I think Florida men are too water based and sweet. Jamaican varieties don't turn brown or black when cut and left on the table like other varieties.
Sometimes my friends, who live in South Florida, use Jamaican varieties, but now have to deal with the diversity of Haas and therefore try to improve their taste by creating aromatic recipes.
When buying avocados, pay attention to people who feel firm and don't have a weak spot. If you gently press the avocado and lightly press it, it is ripe and ready for consumption. Usually I buy one or two similar ones and the other when I press it green without pressure.
To save avocados, sometimes I buy a dozen in the last week, I leave them for about three days and as soon as they start to mature, they store in the refrigerator to delay the process. That's how I usually enjoy it for a full week.
Even though they are rarely frozen, they freeze well. You can peel the avocado, lime pulp and store it in a freezer bag for up to 6 months.
For super simple but complete recipes. I cook my bread, I like Shar bread without gluten. Season black beans with cumin, garlic, and salt. then prepare onions, tomatoes, corn and finally crush the avocado and add lime juice and kilantro salt. Then toast and enjoy.

- First : Mіx all ingredients, еxсерt thе аvосаdо and bread, іn a bowl.
- Next : Toast thе brеаd.
- Spread some рurееd avocado оntо еасh slice оf tоаѕt.
- Add the salsa mіxturе оn tор of еасh ѕlісе.
